Iceland Adult League Rules

Rules
The Iceland Adult Hockey Teams will adhere to all USA Hockey requirements.
Any player who is past due on payments may not be allowed to play. If your name is highlighted on the score sheet
you must pay your hockey dues.

All games will begin on time. Referees will assess penalties for delay of game according to the USA Hockey rules. Teams need a minimum of 6 players to start the game.

All games are 3  17-minute run time periods, with a 3-minute warm up. Each team will be allowed a 1-minute timeout per game. The last minute of the 3rd period will be stop time if teams are within 3 goals of each other. Game resulting in a tied score will remain, except for playoffs in which there will be 5-minute sudden death (5 players) and a 5 man shoot out if needed.

Checking
A check during a non-check game will be assessed a double minor or a 5-minute major at the discretion of the referees IF it is determined that the check was deliberate.

Slashing/Cross Checking
A  2-minute minor or 5-minute major will be assessed based on the discretion of the referees.

Any player assessed a fighting penalty will get a 5-minute major, get ejected from the game, and get suspended for 2 additional games.
Any player assessed their second fighting penalty for the season will be suspended for 3 games.

Proper Conduct
Proper conduct must be adhered to at all times while on Iceland property. Slamming doors and trying to destroy Iceland property when you are assessed a penalty or anytime will not be tolerated. Breaking glass due to the slamming of your stick will result in payment of the glass.

Rosters

Every player must be registered and placed on a roster prior to playing in a game. Players must be current in ice payments. Team Captains must verify that only players listed on score sheet are playing. Players must play 4 games to be eligible for playoffs.  Military players may not join at the end of the season unless they played at least 1 game before getting deployed.

A player may be listed on two teams provided registration forms and dues are paid for both teams.

A team must start with 6 players on the ice. If a team has less than 6 players, they may add registered Iceland adult players for that game only. If players are added, the game will be registered as a forfeit. The score will be 1-0. Captains may not invite non rostered players to play when they are short on players.

Any players not on the roster or improperly registered substitutes will result in a game forfeit and a one game suspension for the team captain.

Properly registered goalies may be substituted in the event a team is missing its goalie. Notify Iceland management prior to game to be played. All goalies must be Iceland registered goalies.

All players must sign the score sheet prior to the game starting.
