Iceland is proud to be a member of the Ice Sports Industry (ISI). All of our Learn to Skate classes follow the Ice Sport Industry's levels and standards. The wonderful thing about ISI levels is that beginning levels focus on basic skating for future figure and hockey skaters.

Tot - Delta Classes

Class Levels
Tot 1-4 focus on stability and beginner safety techniques
Pre Alpha builds on basic techniques and backward skating.
Alpha focus on advanced forward skating, crossovers and stops.
Beta continues work on backward skating with crossovers and stops.
Gamma goes over rotation techniques.
Delta focuses on advanced edge work and beginner freestyle moves.
Freestyle goes over jumps and spins along with advanced edgework.
Hockey Initiation goes over beginner hockey skills and skating.

General Policies & Information

Pre-registration is encouraged
Each LTS session is 8 weeks long.
All classes are 30 minutes of group instruction
except Freestyle and Hockey classes, which are 45 minutes long.
- Instructors for each class will generally remain the same throughout the 8-weeks, however, if an instructor is sick or out of town another instructor will substitute and teach the class.
- All enrolled students, except Hockey and Freestyle classes, will have an additional 30 minutes of practice ice time.
- NO backwards spirals or maneuvers which may potentially cause harm to another will be tolerated on the practice ice. Practice ice times will be unsupervised, except for Tot classes.
- NO MAKE UP CLASSES will be granted without the approval of the Skating Programs Director. If you are unable to attend your class, you MUST call on the day of or prior to the missed class to arrange your make up lesson. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Helmets are MANDATORY for all skaters under 6 years of age, and strongly encouraged for ALL beginner skaters.
- Please dress appropriately; gloves, hat, sweaters, pants, etc...IT’S COLD!!!
- Minimum of 6 students needed for a class. Classes may be combined at the discretion of the Skating Programs Director.
NO REFUNDS except for medical condition with physician’s note.
ALL SKATERS MUST CHECK IN BEFORE EACH CLASS.
