Adult Developmental Hockey Starts September 14th

Come join us for the Iceland/VBHC adult developmental league.  This program is aimed at new adult players with beginner skating ability.  Teams are chosen at the start of each game.  Games are three 17 minute run time periods with referees and on-ice instruction.  This is a 10 game season with games beginning on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 and run through Nov. 16, 2014.  All games are played at 4:15 pm on Sundays.
 
The Iceland and VBHC Adult Developmental League is for players ages 18 or older with limited or no ice hockey experience. The program focuses learning the game of hockey while playing the games.  Teams are chosen prior to each game by coaches based on experience level and capability.  Each game will be facilitated by an on-ice coach.  Prior to the game, coaches will facilitate a ‘warm-up’ drill.  During the games, coaches may stop play to point out situations or opportunities.  All instruction is provided by the Iceland and VBHC coaching team.
Each game the coaches will focus on game-play situations, including:
· Team-focused play
· Offensive and defensive strategies
· Power play and penalty kills situations
· Position responsibilities in defensive, neutral and offensive zones
· Shooting, passing, stick-handling and puck possession skills
