Adult Learn to Play Hockey / & Basic Skills

Come join us for four Thursday sessions beginning Thursday, 8 Aug at 7:30 pm.  Cost is $75.00 for the program or $20 per session.  This program is aimed at new adult players with beginner/intermediate skating ability.
The Iceland and VBHC Adult Learn to Play program is for players ages 18 or older with limited or no ice hockey experience. Players are introduced to proper skating techniques and tactics required to play hockey. The program focuses on individual skills development, as well as fundamental team play. Off-ice instruction will include a instruction on individual and team strategies, a descriptions of the drills for that session, and a review of rules of the game for both USA Hockey and Iceland house rules.  All instruction is provided by the Iceland and VBHC coaching team.
At the completion of this class players will have a better understanding of the game of hockey, improved awareness on the ice, and improved skills.
Each session features:
30-minutes of off-ice instruction
15-minute Warm Up / skating skills
45-minute Skill Instruction
Sessions concentrate on game-play situations, including:
Team-focused drills
Offensive and defensive strategies
Power play and penalty kills situations
Position responsibilities in defensive, neutral and offensive zones
Shooting, passing, stick-handling and puck possession skills
