Thursday morning a national news report was televised regarding the air safety of ice rinks and the impact on the health of skaters.
The report focused on the poor air quality and carbon monoxide levels in ice arenas.  Needless to say, we started getting emails and phone calls immediately following this news story.
According to the story the biggest contributor to this was the ice resurfacing equipment.
Fortunately, Iceland has an aggressive plan on keeping our equipment in top condition.  The Olympia distributor makes regular visits to Iceland to maintain our Olympia in top condition.  Within the last 4 months, Iceland spent over $5800 in maintenance on the Olympia.
As an additional precaution, there are  carbon monoxide monitors located in the ice rink and are checked on a regular basis.
In response to this story, the Olympia distributor ran tests on the equipment this morning and confirmed that our equipment is operating properly and all readings were well below the recommended limits.
